1955: MM Spa founded for the construction of all the Milan Metro lines

MM s.p.a., an engineering company founded in 1955, has designed and supervised the construction of all the Milan Metro lines. Over the years, MM has extended its field of activity to the road works, parking areas, public buildings, as well as hydraulic engineering, urban renewal and district transport plans.
MM covers the entire design production cycle, from surveys, general studies, preliminary and final designs down to works and construction supervision and management. Due to its proven skills in managing and integrating multidisciplinary tasks, MM guarantees completion of large and complex projects requiring significant financial commitment.
Initially operating mostly in Milan, MM has applied its know-how to other cities and regions in Italy and has recently stepped up its involvement abroad, taking part in international tenders for the planning and design of urban rail transit systems.

MM operates in the planning and constructing of public transport infrastructures and urban renewal. Within these fields, MM provides services ranging from technical and economic evaluations to works planning, from administrative and legal activities to managing tenders and contracts, from expropriation of areas to civil works and systems management, and from design validation to inspection, testing and quality control.

MM is a business partner and consultant to public entities and administrators in large projects involving major investments.
Since 2003 has managed the Integrated water service for the city of Milan
In June 2003 the Milan City Council decided to hand over the management of the Integrated water service, to MM, taking advantage of its technical and management expertise to improve the quality of water-related services and to implement adequate maintenance and investment plans for the drinking water and sewer systems.

Mainly MM manages the integrated water services: water collection, treatment, control, drinking water distribution, wastewater collection, disposal, treatment and return to the environment. For a population of about 2 million people (residents and city users), to almost 50,000 customers.

MM provides the City of Milanengineering and technical support in the management activities on protection hydraulics, hydraulic cleaning, the culverts of surface waters and white nets.
On December 2012 starts up MilanoBlu, the mark of the water di Milano with a dedicated website www.milanoblu.com.

Since December 2014, MM manages the sewage treatment plant of San Rocco, one of the three treatment plants wastewater service to the city of Milan.

2014: MM manages public housing in the City of Milan

Since December 1st 2014 MM manages public housing in the City of Milan.

The assets that MM took over consists of more than 38,000 housing units, of which almost 29,000 are homes.

MM guarantees the performance of the following functions:

• Relationship with customers through the Regional Offices and Contact Centre
• Assets Protection

Moreover, MM has obtained the accreditation from Accredia (cert. N.055 E) as Inspection Body Type “B” according to the European Standard EN ISO/IEC 17020 with its “Unità Tecnica Validazione Progetti”.

MM can provide also the following services:
Inspection on design of buildings according to the legislative decree n°163/2006 – Annex XXI art. 28 – and to the related regulation DPR n°207/2010 art. 47; to be precise check of different design levels – from the preliminary design to the detailed one – without any limits in term of related works’ amount of money, also for validation purpose;
Inspections of auxiliary technical services of the Clients, such as:
